"Lovely evening"

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2015

We decided to visit the Moorings after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Tuesday evening out of season and it was busy which is always a good sign. Made to feel very welcome by the waiters. Service prompt and timely. Excellent selection of wine at reasonable prices.
We had the smoked trout for Starters which we shared. Lovely soft smoked trout. I had muscles and my partner had the duck confeit. Both delicious. Good wine to accompany. Didn’t have room for sweet so can’t comment on them. We were left in peace to finish our wine.
Can’t praise the service enough. There were a large group of people in doing some filming fir a comedy show with quite a famous comedian amongst them no comment was made about him and they were to left to get on with their meal. So if it is good enough for the stars of a certain Welsh comedy then it’s good enough for me.

"Fantastic little place"

What a lovely little restaurant, the staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble (even if they think the plates are blue when they’re green “inside joke”). The lamb was to die for we’ve eaten at some of Britain and Wales’ top restaurant’s and this was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Keep doing what your doing. We’ll be back in the near future.

"Great food & service"

Came here due to the fact it’s the top rated restaurant in Tenby and was not disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and passionate about the customer experience, which drives the great service. The food was also spectacular. We had trout salad, ham terrine, rib eye steak, fish stew, poached pear and choc torte. The trout salad and chocolate torte get a special recommendation from me. Also pleased to see they are not stingy with the portions! Love the informal atmosphere and decor.

"Best fish finger sandwich on the planet"

my wife and I were in Tenby for a few days and happened across the Mooring we wanted a snack. The ambience is great . The food was excellent. I had a fish finger sandwich when it arrived I could not believe the quality of the food presentation all fantastic. The service was brilliant. My wife had a vegetarian goats cheese risotto that was also fantastic. We were so impressed retuned two days later for an evening meal again out of this world

"Quality food at a good price"

Overview – lunch at this little gem of a restaurant provided a very relaxed experience, quality snack type menu, friendly and helpful staff; tastefully decorated with a superb ambience.

1. Location – the High Street location was very convenient for my group;

2. Restaurant – the tasteful decor, offered a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main street and added significantly to our dining experience;

3. The Food – the lunch menu offered a choice of meal using quality ingredients and a great choice of beverages;

4. The Staff – the welcome, patience when we dithered over food choices and friendliness of service was appreciated;

5. The Verdict – this was a simple but classy venue that delivered an excellent service. I can imagine the Mooring being heavily subscribed in the height of the summer season so get in early. We’ll be back.

Superb food cooked to perfection and the chocolate and caramel torte is without doubt the best I have had although I will have to walk a few miles to burn the calories off!
Top marks all round and great value too!
